Did you know the third oldest historic district in the nation is right out your backdoor? Just moments away, the beautifully historic main streets of Old Town, Alexandria are filled with top-notch restaurants and unique shops.

Let’s start with the food. Old Town restaurants are dishing out some seriously good meals. Try the three-course family dinner on Sundays at Bastille or spend an evening with friends at the lively wine-and-coffee bar Grape + Bean. And for something really special, check out Restaurant Eve located inside a stylish and cozy townhome.

When it’s time to hit the shops, there are a few boutiques you don’t want to miss. Hysteria is a favorite among fashionistas. The lovely little store is filled with jewelry, handbags and clothing – think Diane von Furstenburg , Tory Burch and Vince. Treat is another shop that is, just that, a treat. The sample-sale store is only open on weekends, but you can find designer brands at 50% off. For home wares, don’t miss J. Brown & Co.’s two locations at 1119 and 1125 King Street. This cheerful shop stocks high-end furniture, hand-painted pottery, hand-blown glass and more.
