Bands, Beads and More At Annual Mardi Gras Parade in Arlington!
We may be thousands of miles away from one of the most cultural cities in the South, but that doesn’t mean residents of Arlington will have to make that trip to enjoy Mardi Gras! You can add one more holiday celebration to your calendar for February as Clarendon gears up to bring the festivities to the streets of Virginia.
In two weeks, the Clarendon neighborhood will host their annual parade of sorts for residents to attend. Like most parades, the event will feature: homefloats, bands, and more! In the spirit of Mardi Gras, you can expect: Mardi Gras beads, New Orleans-inspired musical selections as well as people (and animals) decked out in appropriate costume!
The Mardi Gras parade will take place on actual Fat Tuesday, which is Tuesday February 21st, at 8PM! Check out the full article to see what local bands and schools will make an appearance…
If you plan on attending from Crystal Square Apartments, you will be only 5 miles from the parade starting point–which is from N Barton St and Wilson Blvd. Crystal Square is located at 1515 Jefferson Davis Hwy, which turns into Wilson after the 5 miles. Families can walk (highly recommended) or park close to the parade start.
If you’re lucky enough, you may be able to see the commotion, looking out one of the windows in our high-rise community…
